Image Resizer KB to MB
Resize to exact KB or MB – Private and Offline
Drag and drop images here
JPG, PNG, WEBP – Max 15MB
I built this tool after getting frustrated. Most tools only compress – MB to KB. But what if you need to increase image size from KB to MB? Many government forms, like UPSC, SSC, or university portals, ask for photo between 1MB to 2MB. If your photo is 150KB, you need to make it 1MB without losing quality.
That’s why I made this Image Resizer KB to MB tool. It works both ways – compress 5MB to 100KB, or enlarge 50KB to 2MB. You set exact target – 20KB, 100KB, 500KB, 1MB, 2MB, 5MB, even 10MB – and it resizes to that exact size in browser. No upload, 100% private.
Why This Tool is Different? (Features No One Else Has)
- 1. KB ↔ MB Toggle – Both Ways: Most sites only do MB to KB. Mine does KB to MB also. Toggle between KB and MB mode, enter 0.5 MB and it auto shows 512 KB.
- 2. Lossless Padding Mode – For Forms: Need 1MB minimum but your image is 200KB? Normal upscale makes image blurry. My “Lossless Padding” mode adds invisible bytes after JPEG end marker to increase file size to exact 1MB without changing a single pixel. Perfect for forms that check file size, not quality.
- 3. Smart Upscale (KB to MB): When you need to go from 100KB to 2MB, it intelligently increases dimensions using high-quality smoothing and max quality to reach target. No other free tool does this properly.
- 4. Batch Resize to Same MB: Upload 10 photos, set target 1MB, click Resize All – all become 1MB. Download as ZIP with custom naming like {name}-{size}.
- 5. Exact Size Engine: Uses binary search on quality + dimension scaling to hit your target within 5% accuracy. If you set 100KB, you get 95-100KB, not 60KB.
- 6. Live KB to MB Converter: Type 1500 KB and it instantly shows 1.46 MB. Type 2.5 MB and it shows 2560 KB. No need for separate calculator.
- 7. Dual Preview – Before/After in KB & MB: Shows original 150KB (0.14 MB) → Result 2048KB (2.00 MB) with % change and method used (upscale/downscale/padding).
KB vs MB – Simple Guide
1 MB = 1024 KB. So 100KB = 0.098 MB, 500KB = 0.488 MB, 1MB = 1024KB, 2MB = 2048KB.
When to use KB: For signatures (20KB-50KB), thumbnails, fast websites, email attachments.
When to use MB: For high-quality prints, portfolios, forms asking minimum 1MB, university admissions.
